Reasons

We have 194 Sovereign independent states (SIS)/ Countries including 61 dependents and 07 disputed territories, under these Countries. If someone saw an island in an ocean and call it a country or divide China, India, USA, UAE in many parts and call parts, as countries- it is mistake, misleading and wrong. United Nations is umbrella organization & accordingly, the total number of countries are 194 only (Considering Vatican city & newly Kosovo excluding Taiwan) and this is full stop. Only Taiwan works as a Sovereign Country additionally.

For visa matters, many Territories often demand visa from Developing World Travelers( DWTs). For example, with French/ Schengen visa, one can not go to French Polynesia or American Samoa with American visa, though these are dependent territories under France & USA. For reference, average & big size countries have around 50-100 foreign missions, smallers have even less. So, how travelers will get visa for 262?

For nationals of appx 34 developed countries and Diplomatic passport holders of all countries including their children, visa is on arrival for most countries. But for developing world travelers( DWTs), one has to travel to a country having target Embassy, apply and wait sometimes for 03-06 weeks. Many times, no luck even you are with return ticket, hotel booking & funds! Also there are new travelers from every part, unaware of their rights. What they do when airlines, agents or even an Immigration officer makes mistake? For examples, if one travels from Australia to Cook Islands or beyond to Tahiti by Air New Zealand or Pacific Blue (via New Zealand) his luggage will not be booked to destination as both carriers have no agreement as on 2007. For a DWT, it is a major problem as he can not go out to get luggage due to no visa. DWTs to Malaysia prefer to travel through Singapore who offers visa on arrival for air passengers but on return by road, train or ferry, not acceptable and may face jail at Malaysia if with single entry visa. Several such examples prevail. Many countries denied entry to DWTs when their own Govt website/ Tourist Bureau saying visa is on arrival with return ticket & fund. Law changes frequently, even by seeing a DWT! In fact, Developing world is loosing rich brains every year as many educated people are changing their nationalities or opting dual, to avoid such hassles, leaving social problems.

UK & USA are very responsible countries who offers up to 10 yrs Multiple entry visit visas. These are good. Real problems are within the Developing world! Even their own missions do inadequate. However, we are not against anybody but addressing peoples problems which is hurting both Developing and Developed world.

Few easy going persons, try to believe that visa matters are reciprocal. It is not practically true as most countries of developing world, do not follow it. Some think, it is their own Governments job, again it is not possible for any single country or Government to achieve and the net result is that the Developing world travelers continue to be sufferers.
